Alibaba Resumes Recruitment Amid Renewed Confidence

Chinese technology giant Alibaba Group has announced the resumption of its hiring process. The company’s chairman, Joe Tsai, stated on Tuesday that the organization has regained confidence following a recent meeting between President Xi Jinping and business entrepreneurs, according to a report by Reuters.
He noted that over the past four years, strict regulatory scrutiny in the technology sector had led to reduced investments and significant layoffs. As a result, Alibaba's workforce had declined for twelve consecutive quarters. However, considering the current situation, the company is now planning to restart recruitment.
Tsai further emphasized that the new hiring initiative would enhance job security, which, in the long run, would help strengthen business confidence and boost consumer trust.
Meanwhile, Alibaba’s chairman also expressed concerns regarding the large-scale investments in artificial intelligence (AI) by the United States. He remarked, “Some companies are making advanced investments that may create an imbalance in the future.” He particularly highlighted the concern over excessive data center construction plans that surpass demand, calling it "worrisome."
