Ministry Uses Social Media Safety Campaign to Raise Hajj Heat Awareness
The Ministry of Religious Affairs is creating awareness among Hajj pilgrims through the publication of awareness-focused posts on social media. As part of this initiative, pilgrims have been advised to avoid direct exposure to sunlight.
On Wednesday, May 20, Public Relations Officer of the ministry Md. Abubakar Siddique said that, in line with directives from the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Ministry of Religious Affairs is providing various safety guidelines for Hajj pilgrims. These include resting in shaded areas, using vehicles for transportation, and carrying umbrellas or other head coverings while walking.
Pilgrims have also been advised to drink water regularly, use shaded routes, and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during periods of excessive heat.
The ministry said that new awareness content is being regularly published on its Facebook page almost every day to educate Hajj pilgrims. These contents are also being shared across various groups associated with Hajj management.
