An awareness meeting has been held in Satkhira with local digital content creators and YouTubers on preventing technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV).

A total of 35 content creators, YouTubers, and online entrepreneurs from the district participated. According to the organizers, the combined follower and audience reach of the participants is approximately 2 million.

The session discussed technology-driven gender-based violence, online harassment, trolling, data leaks, non-consensual content distribution, and digital security. Speakers noted that digital platforms are no longer only spaces for entertainment but also important mediums for social awareness and positive change.

The chief guest at the event was Satkhira District Information Officer Mohammad Jaharul Islam. Special guest was District ICT Officer Shariful Islam. Others who spoke included Executive Director of Agrogoti Sangstha Abdus Sabur Biswas, Chief Executive Officer of BNNRC AHM Bazlur Rahman, representative of Nagorikata: Civic Engagement Fund Md. Nurul Islam, and local content creator Yasin Arafat.

The session also covered Facebook and YouTube community guidelines, ethical standards of digital behavior, and strategies for creating safe content. In addition, information about government support services, including the Police Cyber Support for Women helpline, was presented.

At the end of the event, certificates were distributed among participants. The organizers said that similar awareness programs will continue in the future to promote digital development and prevent TFGBV.
