Apple Ascends Again as iPhone Ignites Sales in China

Apple has once again regained a strong foothold in China’s smartphone market in October. According to data from research firm Counterpoint, one out of every four smartphones sold in China that month was an iPhone, reports Reuters.

The report states that Apple’s sales rose 37 percent year-on-year, driven primarily by high demand for the new iPhone 17 series. This marks the first time since 2022 that Apple has achieved such a market share in China.

Data shows that China’s overall smartphone sales in October increased by 8 percent, with significant contributions from both Apple and domestic brands. Counterpoint notes that all three variants of the iPhone 17 demonstrated medium to high growth rates, and over 80 percent of Apple’s total sales came from these new models. Analysts believe Apple’s revenue could strengthen further due to a rise in average selling price, and the company may even set record sales in the final quarter of the year.

Local brands are also performing strongly in the market. Xiaomi, having released its 17 series earlier than usual, climbed to second place for the first time in a decade. Meanwhile, Oppo’s sales rose by 19 percent. Although analysts foresee some risk with the launch of Huawei’s highly anticipated Mate 80 series, Apple is still expected to maintain its current momentum.
