TikTok to Invest $8.8 Billion in Thailand’s Data Infrastructure

Chinese tech giant ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, has announced plans to invest $8.8 billion in Thailand over the next five years to establish data centers, according to a statement by TikTok’s Vice President Helena Lersch at an event in Bangkok on Friday. The news was reported by Reuters.

However, it remains unclear whether this investment includes the $3.8 billion agreement announced last month with Thailand’s Board of Investment.

This marks one of the largest investments in Thailand’s technology sector and is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing the country’s digital infrastructure.
