Flexible Financing Facilitates Smartphones for Subscribers
From now on, mobile phone buyers in Bangladesh can purchase smartphones with long-term data and voice packages on easy installments without a credit card. Through two extended combo bundle options, customers can now acquire iTel, Tecno, and Infinix smartphones on EMI via Grameenphone Centers or the Pumpe retail partner. The bundles will be immediately activated for the full duration, and installment payments can be made through the Pumpe app without affecting the customer’s primary balance.
On Thursday, September 25, Grameenphone signed a partnership agreement with its associate Pumpe. At GP House in Dhaka, Grameenphone’s Senior Director and Head of Internet and Broadband, Md. Mahbubul Alam Bhuiya, and Pumpe’s Chief Operating Officer, Chris Cheng, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. Grameenphone’s Chief Product Officer Solaiman Alam, Chief Marketing Officer Farha Naz Jaman, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Tanvir Mohammed, and other senior officials attended the ceremony. Pumpe was represented by COO Chris Cheng, Chief Sales Officer Jack Zha, and other prominent delegates.
Under the agreement, customers can now enjoy two bundles exclusively via the Pumpe platform: 225 GB of data and 4,500 voice minutes for BDT 3,996, or 360 GB of data and 6,300 minutes for BDT 4,996. Both bundles have a validity of 270 days.
Grameenphone Chief Product Officer Solaiman Alam stated, “Grameenphone prioritizes delivering an enhanced and uninterrupted experience for our customers. Through this partnership with Pumpe, we have launched a service that makes acquiring devices and connectivity easier and more affordable. By adding attractive bundles alongside convenient installment options, we are not just reducing upfront costs; we are facilitating long-term connectivity, reflecting our commitment to digital inclusion.”
Pumpe Limited Managing Director Jun Zheng Ethan added, “Our partnership with Grameenphone marks a significant milestone. We are moving beyond being merely a smartphone financing platform to offering broader services. We are committed to providing both reliable service bundles and smart devices through an affordable EMI plan. Together, we are launching a new model of digital financial inclusion in Bangladesh, enabling more people to participate in the digital economy.”
