Content Creator Captured: Touhid Afridi Arrested in Murder Case
YouTuber and content creator Touhid Afridi has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in connection with a murder case filed in July.
The CID stated that Afridi is currently being transported from Barisal to Dhaka and will be presented in court on Monday.
CID Special Police Superintendent (Media) Jasim Uddin Khan said, "Touhid Afridi is the 11th accused in the murder case registered at Jatrabari Police Station related to the anti-discrimination student movement. A special CID team conducted an operation in Barisal last night and apprehended him. He is being brought to Dhaka."
Earlier, on 17 August, in connection with the same case involving attacks on the anti-discrimination movement and killings of protesters, Touhid Afridi’s father, Md. Nasir Uddin Sathi, chairman of the private television channel My TV, was arrested from Gulshan. After being remanded, he is currently in custody.
