In a move to enhance pharmaceutical research and professional practice in Bangladesh, and to showcase emerging technologies and innovations, the Department of Pharmacy at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) organized its first-ever national conference. The event aimed to promote effective policy engagement and spotlight new opportunities in pharmaceutical advancement.

Titled “National Pharma Conference on Bridging Research and Practice,” the event was held on Saturday, July 19, at the university's central gallery. Faculty members and students from JUST and various universities across the country participated in the daylong conference.

Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Majid, Vice-Chancellor of JUST, attended the conference as the chief guest. In his address, he said, “The work of pharmacists goes far beyond producing medicine. Their role extends from public health protection to ensuring patient recovery. Globally, pharmacists are involved in all aspects of patient care. If we adopt a similar approach, people in our country will receive the proper healthcare services. I believe the government will soon take action in this regard.”

Addressing the students, he added, “Through conferences like this, you will gain exposure to new ideas and broaden your knowledge. You will build friendships with students from other universities and engage in knowledge exchange, furthering your understanding of pharmacy. I believe your research efforts will present this sector to the world in a new light.”

Distinguished speakers included Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Rashid and Professor Dr. Md. Selim Reza from the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Dhaka. Guest speakers featured Professor Dr. Md. Elias Al Mamun from the same department, Professor Dr. Md. Saiful Islam from the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Technology at DU, and Professor Dr. M.
