Bangladesh Bags ‘Country Award’ at Global Entrepreneurship Congress 2025

Bangladesh has achieved a significant milestone on the global entrepreneurial stage by winning the prestigious "Country Award" at the Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) 2025, outshining over 200 participating nations. The recognition was conferred upon the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Bangladesh for its impactful initiatives and active engagement in global and local entrepreneurship ecosystems.

Key initiatives such as GEN Campus Dhaka, Smart Accelerator Programs, Shimmy’s Digital, and Bangladesh’s active participation in the Entrepreneurship World Cup played vital roles in securing this international recognition.

The award was presented on June 3 during the GEC 2025 Award Session held in Indianapolis, USA. Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of GEN Bangladesh, and KM Hasan Ripon, Managing Director, received the honor on behalf of Bangladesh.

“This award is a global recognition of Bangladesh’s young entrepreneurs, startups, women entrepreneurs, and ecosystem builders. This achievement will further inspire all of us to strengthen the country’s startup ecosystem,” said Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of GEN Bangladesh.

The Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) remarked that the accolade not only highlights Bangladesh’s innovation capacity and commitment to entrepreneurial development but also paves the way for future international collaborations.

GEN Bangladesh continues its mission to build a vibrant entrepreneurship environment across the country through the collaborative efforts of Daffodil International University, Bangladesh Venture Capital Limited, KnowledgeVale, and other ecosystem partners.
