People Can Fly Pulls Plug on Projects Amid Restructuring
Game developer People Can Fly, known for titles such as Outriders and Gears of War: Judgment, has announced the cancellation of two of its ongoing game projects — Project Gemini and Project Bifrost. The move comes as part of a larger company-wide restructuring effort, which includes significant staff layoffs, according to a report by Engadget.
CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski stated that Project Gemini had to be shelved after its publisher decided not to proceed with a publishing agreement or express interest in continuing the project. On the other hand, Bifrost, a self-published virtual reality (VR) title, was discontinued due to a lack of funding.
Back in December 2024, the company had also announced the cancellation of Project Victoria. At that time, layoffs had already begun within the Bifrost development team, and Square Enix was identified as the publisher attached to Project Gemini.
Despite these setbacks, People Can Fly continues to develop multiple titles, including Project Dagger for Sony and Gears of War: E-Day in collaboration with Xbox’s The Coalition.
