Citizens Called to Contribute to ICT White Paper

The taskforce committee responsible for drafting the ICT White Paper has called on citizens to share information, suggestions, and proposals—particularly concerning past irregularities or corruption in the ICT sector. Submissions can be made via email, Messenger, or LinkedIn. The committee has assured that all shared information will be treated with strict confidentiality.

Information can be sent to the email address: [email protected] or through LinkedIn at www.linkedin.com/company/ictwhitepaperbd2025. In addition to online submissions, citizens may send documents by post to: Taskforce Head, Room 707, 7th Floor, ICT Tower, Agargaon, Dhaka-1207. A physical suggestion box is also available on the ground floor of the ICT Tower for in-person submissions.

The taskforce has encouraged anyone with knowledge of corruption or irregularities in the ICT sector to utilize these channels. Citizens may submit evidence or accounts related to legal violations or anomalies in project approval or implementation stages, such as manipulation in tender processes or politically motivated project location decisions.

It is worth noting that the taskforce was formed on April 17, 2025, with the approval of the Chief Adviser of the interim government. The taskforce is headed by renowned development economist Professor Dr. M. Niaz Asadullah. It has already begun its activities to investigate and review alleged mismanagement and irregularities in the ICT sector between 2009 and 2024, aiming to publish a comprehensive White Paper. Several meetings have already been held as part of this effort.

According to sources, in the latest meeting, the taskforce decided to actively involve citizens and stakeholders in the white paper drafting process. Following this decision, the committee has sought cooperation from the public to ensure that the final publication is both evidence-based and comprehensive.
