Turning Point Tales Told at TEDxDaffodilU 2025
The inspirational event TEDxDaffodilU 2025, presented by The Premium Homes Limited, was held on Saturday, May 31, at the Media Lab of Daffodil International University’s (DIU) Birulia campus in Savar. Organized for the third time by the university’s Human Resource Development Institute (HRDI), this year’s daylong program revolved around the theme “Turning Point: The Breakthrough.”
The event brought together dynamic and accomplished individuals from various sectors of Bangladesh to share their stories of innovation and perseverance. Among the featured speakers was National Award-winning agriculturist and Head of DIU’s Department of Agricultural Science, Professor Dr. M. A. Rahim. He was joined by Subhashish Bhowmik, an advocate for sustainable business practices and carbon credit initiatives, and Dr. Aousaf Karim, a physician known for his project-based research work. Each speaker offered guidance and inspiration drawn from their respective fields.
This year’s TEDxDaffodilU also celebrated youth leadership and entrepreneurial spirit. Young and successful entrepreneurs Umme Maisun and Tamjid Rahman shared their personal journeys of struggle and success, while hybrid athlete Sajid Hasan Khan energized the audience with his compelling story of ambition and achievement.
Reflecting on the significance of the event, the convener of TEDxDaffodilU 2025, Professor Dr. Md. Rakibul Kabir, remarked, “TEDxDaffodilU this year told the stories of ‘turning points’ by overcoming thoughts, consciousness, and challenges. From the perspective of dreaming and daring, this event remained truly unique.”
