PriyoShop Progresses Past 100 Crore Investment Mark in Four Years
Bangladesh-based B2B marketplace and distribution platform PriyoShop has secured investments exceeding BDT 100 crore within just four years of its inception. These funds are being utilized to digitally transform small businesses across the country.
As part of an investor outreach program, more than a dozen investors from Singapore and other countries visited PriyoShop’s headquarters, Green Hub, and retail outlets in Dhaka. The 16-member delegation included Jeremy Lim of GFR Fund, Craig Dixon and Osman Ahmed of Accelerating Asia, Oscar Ramos of Orbit Startups, Suraj Kripalani of BonBillo, Goh Seng Wee of BTFV, Charlie Chan of Harvest Moon, Dhawal Shah and Razi Shah of CG Ventures, Mohammad Ibrahim Sameja of Saber Capital, Akif Mahmud of Zoya Capital, and Sami Rahman of Blue Aura Ventures.
The week-long April visit was intended to gain first-hand insights into PriyoShop’s operations. According to PriyoShop Founder Ashiqur Alam Khan, “Before this visit, some investors perceived Bangladesh as similar to Africa in terms of infrastructure. However, after touring our facilities, their perception changed significantly. They now see immense investment potential in the country. We’ve already received a few soft commitments.”
During the visit, the investors interacted with PriyoShop’s leadership, employees, and customers. They also explored local hubs and markets to deepen their understanding of the company’s services and its impact on the MSME sector. The delegation expressed optimism about PriyoShop’s new initiative “ChatniAds,” which integrates creativity, technology, and data to revolutionize MSME advertising.
Before departing, the investors were presented with traditional Bangladeshi souvenirs on behalf of PriyoShop.
It is noted that with foreign investor support, PriyoShop currently serves over 115,000 MSMEs and partners with nearly 300 brands. The company now aims to build a smart distribution platform to meet the needs of five million micro and cottage entrepreneurs, with the potential to serve up to 180 million people across Bangladesh.
