Apple and Anthropic Align to Advance AI-Powered Coding
Tech giant Apple is reportedly collaborating with artificial intelligence firm Anthropic to develop a next-generation coding platform designed to assist programmers in writing, editing, and testing code automatically. According to a Bloomberg report, the platform is internally referred to as a “vibe-coding” software and integrates Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet model. The news was also covered by TechCrunch.
Sources indicate that the new platform is an enhanced iteration of Apple’s existing Xcode framework, and the company is initially planning to roll it out for internal use. A decision on whether it will eventually be made available to the public has not yet been made.
In a broader effort to strengthen its position in the AI sector, Apple is partnering with multiple firms. At present, Apple’s “Apple Intelligence” feature incorporates OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and the company has also hinted at potentially integrating Google’s Gemini as an alternative option.
Anthropic’s Claude model has already gained traction for its code-generation capabilities, particularly within “vibe-coding” platforms such as Cursor and Windsurf.
