EU to Invest €1.3 Billion in AI, Cybersecurity, and Digital Skills

The European Commission has announced a €1.3 billion ($1.4 billion) investment in artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and digital skills development under the Digital Europe Programme. The investment will be implemented between 2025 and 2027, according to a Reuters report.
A Step Towards European Technological Sovereignty
Highlighting the significance of the initiative, the European Commission’s Digital Chief, Henna Virkkunen, stated:
"European technological sovereignty can only be ensured through investment in advanced technology and by creating opportunities to enhance digital skills."
This initiative aims to accelerate research and development in AI and cybersecurity while strengthening Europe’s technological capabilities through digital skill enhancement.
