EFT Messages for January MPO Disbursement Begin Reaching Teachers

Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) messages regarding the disbursement of Monthly Pay Order (MPO) for January have begun reaching enlisted teachers under the IBAS++ software. Prior to this, on Monday, the salaries and allowances of teachers and staff were transferred to their respective bank accounts. The EFT messages followed two days later.

On February 25, the MPO for January was approved for a total of 348,761 teachers and staff from schools and colleges. This includes 268,234 personnel from schools and 80,527 from colleges.

It has been stated that Tk 4.83 billion has been deducted from the basic salary as a 6% contribution to the pension fund and released through EFT for MPO-enlisted teachers and staff of non-government educational institutions (schools and colleges).

Additionally, Tk 3.22 billion has been deducted from the basic salary as a 4% contribution to the Welfare Trust Fund and disbursed via EFT. A total of Tk 84.32 billion in government contributions for salaries and allowances has also been sanctioned for distribution through EFT.

Meanwhile, in an official letter signed by Md. Shahjahan, Deputy Director (General Administration) of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), the deadline for correcting EFT information to ensure salary disbursement for school and college teachers and staff has been extended.

Furthermore, newly approved MPO-enlisted teachers and staff from schools and colleges have been instructed to submit the required information online through their institution heads via the MPO EFT module by March 8. In the case of schools, institution heads can apply for corrections until March 20, with the sub-district (Upazila) education office sending applications by March 30, district offices by April 10, regional deputy directors by April 20, and the DSHE granting final approval by April 27.

For colleges, institution heads must submit applications by March 20, regional deputy directors must forward them by the same date, and DSHE will approve them by March 27.

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education issued a separate order regarding these instructions on Wednesday, March 5. The directive reiterates that newly approved MPO-enlisted teachers and staff must submit their required information online by March 8 through their institution heads for EFT salary processing.

The directive also applies to teachers and staff who became newly MPO-enlisted or re-MPO enlisted through the transfer option in January, even though they were not listed in December. They must also submit their required details through the MPO EFT module.

Additionally, the order states that due to incorrect entries while submitting EFT information, validation from IBAS++ could not be completed, resulting in a failure to process payments. To address this, an edit option has been activated in the EFT entry panel, and affected individuals have been requested to resubmit accurate information within the stipulated timeframe.

After submitting the required information through the MPO EFT module, institution heads must download the hard copy and submit it along with necessary documents to the Regional Director (for colleges) and the Upazila/Thana Secondary Education Officer (for schools).

The submitted hard copies will be verified by the respective authorities, who will then forward them to DSHE by March 10 for further processing. The Upazila/Thana Secondary Education Officer (for schools) and the Regional Director (for colleges) will retain a copy of the documents in their respective offices for record-keeping.
