KUET Students Continue Protest with 'Bloody KUET' Exhibition

Students of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) have continued their protest, refusing to attend classes and exams. As part of their ongoing movement, they organized an exhibition titled 'Bloody KUET' on Friday, February 21, at the Student Welfare Center. The exhibition highlighted the violence that occurred on February 18, when general students of KUET were attacked.

According to university sources, the event began at 4:30 PM, and nearly 100 photographs were displayed, including images of both the injured students and the attackers.

A student from the 23rd batch, wishing to remain anonymous, said, “We, the general students, will continue our movement. Today, we have organized this photo exhibition. It not only displays images of the injured but also the attackers, so they can be identified.”

The students believe that this exhibition sends a strong message against the false propaganda being spread about the general students. They feel that the display of these photographs will help in identifying the attackers and providing the true account of the incident to the public. They also believe the exhibition will assist law enforcement agencies in their investigation.

One of the photographs displayed shows both the victims and the perpetrators, which, according to the students, will help authorities in identifying the culprits. The students further stated, “We are being subjected to various forms of propaganda, but we want to bring the identity of the attackers to light. Therefore, these photographs are crucial for ensuring the attackers are swiftly brought to justice, and to prevent further disinformation about the incident.” They emphasized that the exhibition not only serves as a medium to present the events but can also play an effective role in preventing such incidents from happening again. The students’ initiative is expected to raise awareness and compel the administration to take appropriate action.

The conflict on February 18 began over the distribution of forms by the student wing of the BNP, which led to clashes with general students. Afterward, outsiders attacked the students. In response, KUET’s emergency syndicate meeting decided to suspend academic activities until February 28. The photo exhibition was organized to raise awareness about the consequences of such attacks and student politics. Prior to this, on Thursday, general students displayed red cards in protest against terrorism and student politics.
