BYD Introduces Advanced Autonomous Driving Features Across Most Models

Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer BYD has integrated advanced autonomous driving features into most of its models, with prices starting as low as $9,555. Industry experts believe this move could trigger a new price war among competitors, including Tesla. The information was reported by Reuters on Monday.
BYD’s founder, Wang Chuanfu, stated that the company’s “God’s Eye” autonomous driving technology will now be available in all models priced above 100,000 yuan ($13,688). Additionally, three models priced below this threshold will also feature the technology, including the company’s most affordable model, Seagull, which costs 69,800 yuan.
Previously, this technology was only offered in vehicles priced at $30,000 or more, whereas Tesla currently includes similar features in its EVs priced at $32,000 in China. Analysts suggest that BYD aims to democratize smart driving technology, ensuring it is no longer limited to premium vehicles.
This strategic move by BYD could bring significant changes to China’s EV market and put immense pressure on competitors. The company has already integrated its DeepSeek artificial intelligence technology into its smart car systems. Wang Chuanfu expressed optimism, stating that in the future, smart driving will become as essential as seatbelts and airbags.
