JUST Seminar Highlights Pharma Research and Career Paths

A seminar titled “Research Opportunities and Career Development in Pharmaceutical Industries” was held at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) to raise awareness about research prospects and career advancement in the pharmaceutical sector.

The seminar took place on Monday, December 22, at 3:00 pm at the Professor Mohammad Sharif Hossain Gallery of the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam Academic Building. The event was organized by the Department of Chemistry.

Vice-Chancellor of JUST, Professor Dr. Md Abdul Majid, attended the seminar as the chief guest. Addressing the students, he said the knowledge gained from such seminars would help them better understand the pharmaceutical industry, which he described as a major sector for career development. He advised students to prepare multiple career plans so that alternative paths remain open if one option does not work out.

The keynote speaker was Md Abdul Alim, Assistant Manager at Bangladesh Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Limited. He presented detailed insights on research opportunities and career development in the pharmaceutical industry through a slide presentation.

The seminar was chaired by the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Chairman of the Department of Chemistry, Dr. Md Qurban Ali. Other speakers included Chairman of the Department of Pharmacy Professor Dr. A F M Shahid-ud-Doula and Associate Professor of the Department of Chemistry Dr. K. M. Anis-ul-Haq.

Among those present were Associate Professors Dr. Suman Chandra Mohanta, Assistant Professors Dr. Babul Hira Mondal, Dr. Md Azizur Rahman Khan, Dr. Md Shahidul Islam, along with teachers and students of the department. The seminar was moderated by Chemistry Department student Zoardar Jim.
