The 27th International Robot Olympiad was held from December 17 to 20 at the Mantra Southport Sharks Convention Centre in Gold Coast, Australia, with medals presented at the closing ceremony on Sunday, December 21.

Congratulating the team on their success were Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology; Shish Haider Chowdhury, NDC, Secretary of the ICT Division; and Md Abu Sayeed, Director General of the Department of ICT.

The ICT Division and the Department of ICT provided overall patronage for Bangladesh’s participation in the international competition.

Notably, the national selection process was organised by the Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN), with online preliminary rounds held on August 29–30 and the national round of IRO Bangladesh Open 2025 conducted on September 12–13 at the University of Asia Pacific, Dhaka. Winners from the Creative Movie, Creative and Physical Computing categories were evaluated through a national training and selection camp before forming the international team.

Bangladesh has been participating in the International Robot Olympiad since 2018. Over the past eight years, Bangladeshi teams have won 94 medals, including 15 gold medals. This year, a 10-member team represented the country at the prestigious global robotics event.
