Metro rail services in Dhaka returned to normal after a temporary 40-minute suspension due to a Victory Day parajump event. Despite the public holiday, trains operated according to the schedule of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) until 9:30 PM from Uttara North Station and 10:10 PM from Motijheel Station on Tuesday, December 16.

Md. Ahsan Ullah Sharifi, DMTCL Deputy Project Director (Public Relations), confirmed that the metro service was halted between 11:50 AM and 12:30 PM to ensure the safety of paratroopers participating in the jump at Tejgaon Old Airport area. Train operations resumed normally after the 40-minute pause, continuing at regular intervals.

Regarding the metro schedule on a public holiday, Sharifi explained that first trains departed Uttara North Station at 6:30 AM and Motijheel Station at 7:15 AM, while the last trains would leave at 9:30 PM and 10:10 PM, respectively.
