CUET Celebrates Victory Day with Patriotic Programs and Tribute to Martyrs
Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) observed the Great Victory Day with due dignity and festive enthusiasm through a daylong program on Tuesday, December 16.
The celebrations began in the morning with the hoisting of the national flag accompanied by the national anthem, led by CUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiya. This was followed by the laying of wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar in remembrance of the martyrs.
Later in the day, a discussion titled “Great Victory Day–2025” was held at the CUET Academic Council Hall. Speaking as the chief guest, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiya said that victory represents a nation’s identity. Emphasizing unity, he called for collective efforts to protect independence and sovereignty, regardless of religion, race, or group, and urged all to work together toward peace and prosperity. He also stressed the importance of a shared commitment to building a safe, humane, and developed Bangladesh for future generations.
The meeting was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Mahbubul Alam, Director of the Directorate of Student Welfare. Acting Registrar Mohammad Nazrul Islam delivered the welcome address. Among others who spoke were Dean of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering Professor Dr. Asiful Haque (on behalf of the deans), Director of the Directorate of Research and Extension Professor Dr. Sajal Chandra Banik (on behalf of the directors), Provost of Muktijoddha Hall Professor Dr. Biplob Chandra Mondal (on behalf of the provosts), CUET Teachers’ Association President Professor Dr. G.
