Google Wallet Gains Lock Screen Travel Updates via Android 16
Google Wallet users will now be able to view key information about flights, train journeys, and events directly from their lock screens. The new capability comes through Android 16’s Live Updates feature, which dynamically displays real-time information such as navigation, ride bookings, and food deliveries, according to a report by GSM Arena.
Google had first announced the feature during the unveiling of Android 16 in June. It has now been integrated into Google Wallet, allowing users to access travel-related updates without needing to open a separate app.
Meanwhile, Samsung’s new Now Bar has also gained the ability to display travel information from Google Wallet. The feature will be available on Samsung devices running One UI 8 and Google Play Services version 25.41.
Technology analysts note that this enhancement will make Google Wallet smarter, more efficient, and increasingly travel-friendly.
