Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan has emphasized that, in the era of evolving modern warfare, there is no longer a distinction between airspace and cyberspace. He stressed the need to protect the invisible boundaries of digital networks just as the nation defends its air, land, and maritime borders.

He made these remarks on Tuesday, September 7, while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of "Cyber Security Awareness Month 2025", held at the auditorium of the Air Force Headquarters in Dhaka Cantonment.

“The evolution of modern warfare has made it impossible to view airspace and cyberspace separately,” said the Air Chief. “Just as we protect our air, land, and maritime boundaries, we must also safeguard the invisible frontiers of our digital networks. Cyber threats can emerge at any time and from any location.”

He further noted, “Awareness, caution, and discipline are the key tools for staying secure in the cyber world.”

This year, the Bangladesh Air Force has adopted the theme “Cyber Awareness is Everyone’s Responsibility: Every Click Matters” for Cyber Security Awareness Month.

The Air Chief commended the Cyber Warfare and Information Technology Directorate for its initiatives in countering cyber threats. He encouraged careful usage of digital devices and urged everyone to remain vigilant and informed. He expressed hope that “cybersecurity is a shared responsibility that can only be achieved through constant vigilance and collective effort.”

He concluded by reaffirming his vision of making the Air Force an unassailable force both in the skies and in the digital domain through joint efforts.

The event was attended by selected officers, airmen, MODC personnel, and civilian members from Dhaka-based bases and units of the Air Force. Representatives from bases outside Dhaka participated via video teleconference.

Throughout the month-long awareness campaign, various programs will be conducted involving Air Force personnel, their families, and students from different schools and colleges to enhance awareness around cyber safety.
