OpenAI, the creator of the AI-powered ChatGPT, has launched a new affordable subscription plan in India. Announced on Tuesday, the plan—named ChatGPT Go—is priced at just ₹399 per month (approximately $4.6), making it the company’s most inexpensive subscription to date, according to Reuters.

“This initiative targets India’s price-sensitive market,” OpenAI stated. “ChatGPT Go users will be able to send and generate images up to ten times more than free-tier users, in addition to enjoying faster response times.”

Currently, OpenAI’s top-tier plan in India, ChatGPT Pro, costs ₹19,900 per month, while the mid-tier ChatGPT Plus is priced at ₹1,999 per month. The new plan allows regular users to access advanced AI services at a significantly lower cost.

According to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, “India is now the company’s second-largest market by user base and could soon surpass the United States.”
