Daffodil Marks Micro-Credential Day with Industry-Academia Synergy
Under the theme "Empowering the Future through Micro-Credentials," Daffodil International University (DIU) celebrated DIU Micro-Credential Day 2025 on Saturday, July 19, at its International Conference Hall. The event was organized by the DIU Micro-Credential Academy in collaboration with the Faculty of Science and Information Technology.
The occasion provided a unique platform for students to enhance their academic journey and career prospects through networking with industry experts, career counseling, micro-credential course exploration, and discussions on industry-academic collaboration and opportunities.
Riazul Latif Chowdhury, Executive Director General of the Bangladesh National Museum, inaugurated the event as the Chief Guest. Special Guests included Mohammad Nuruzzaman Munna, CEO of Speed Marketing Corporation, and Dr. Mostafa Sajjad Hassan, FCA.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. Dr. M. R. Kabir, Vice Chancellor of DIU. Other speakers included Prof. Dr. S. M. Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Dr. Gias U. Ahsan, Advisor for Strategy and Innovation at DIU; Prof. Dr. Bimal Chandra Das, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Science and Information Technology; Prof. Dr. Md. Bellal Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences; and Prof. Dr. Sheikh Rashed Hayder Noori, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
Over 100 distinguished industry professionals participated throughout the day, allowing students to connect directly with leading professionals across various sectors. The event created valuable opportunities for internships, mentorships, and employment connections.
Students received personal guidance from industry experts on how to align their academic and career aspirations with evolving market demands. They were also introduced to a wide range of industry-relevant micro-credential courses tailored to meet the growing needs in fields such as fashion design, data analytics, and more.
