UlkaSemi Honored for Semiconductor Excellence on World Telecommunication Day

UlkaSemi, a leading name in Bangladesh's semiconductor industry, has been awarded for its outstanding contribution to the nation’s ICT sector through innovative semiconductor design. The recognition came during the celebration of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day 2025, held on Saturday (May 17) at the BTRC Building in Dhaka. The theme for this year was "Digital Innovation for Gender Equality."

The event was organized by the Posts and Telecommunications Division, where Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Adviser to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, and Youth and Sports, attended as the chief guest and handed over the awards to the recipients.

Among the three organizations honored, UlkaSemi Private Limited stood out for its groundbreaking work in semiconductor design—a field that forms the backbone of modern technologies, especially Artificial Intelligence (AI).

UlkaSemi is working at the forefront of this transformative technology with a team of highly skilled Bangladeshi engineers. The company has championed a merit-based, inclusive work environment, promoting gender equality within the tech sector. Currently, around 100 female engineers are employed at UlkaSemi, making significant contributions through their talent and dedication.

With a vision to transform Bangladesh’s semiconductor sector into a multi-billion-dollar industry by 2030, UlkaSemi is investing in talent development. The company aims to train 5,000 skilled semiconductor engineers over the next five years. At present, it boasts a workforce of 550 highly qualified engineers, spearheading the country’s journey toward a digitally advanced future.
