Associate Members Ascend: Four Win ISPAB Board Seats

In the election for the Executive Council of the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) for the 2025–2027 term, four associate members have been elected as directors out of ten candidates. A total of 557 out of 662 eligible voters cast their ballots in this category.

The elected directors are Raisul Islam Tuhin (299 votes), Fuad Muhammad Sharafuddin (289 votes), Md. Zubayer Islam (257 votes), and S M Saiful Islam Selim (252 votes). Among them, Tuhin and Zubayer contested from the "Adhikar" panel.

Md. Nasir Uddin narrowly missed victory with 251 votes—just one short of the cutoff. Other candidates who did not win include Md. Imdadul Haque (237 votes), Md. Alamgir Hossain (194), Anwar Ahmed (185), Tarik Hasan Turjo (173), and Mohammad Shahjahan (63).

The day-long voting took place on Saturday, May 17, at the Shahid Abu Sayeed International Conference Center on Minto Road in Shahbagh, Dhaka. The final results for both general and associate categories were announced at around 8:30 PM.

The results were officially declared by the ISPAB Election Chairman, Advocate Mohammad Ali of the Bangladesh Supreme Court. Assistant Attorney Generals Advocate Md. Ershad Hossain (Rashed) and Advocate Rakib Hossain were also present.

The Election Appellate Board was headed by Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. A. K. M. Shamsul Islam, with Colonel Ahmed Dania Islam (Retd.) and Supreme Court Advocate Md. Nihar Hossain (Faruk) serving as board members.
