Nationwide Services Streamlined: ‘Nagorik Seba Bangladesh’ Launches Entrepreneur Training

The Office of the Chief Adviser has launched the first phase of training under the initiative ‘Nagorik Seba Bangladesh’, aimed at providing citizens access to all government services from a single platform. As of now, 17,352 individuals have registered on the portal, with the inaugural four-day training session commencing on Saturday at the Dak Bhaban in Agargaon, Dhaka.
In this first phase, 60 selected entrepreneurs from Dhaka district are participating, including 22 women. The program includes 12 hands-on training sessions, with 14 external trainers. As part of the training, a field visit will also be conducted.
Upon completion of the four-day program, participants will sit for a written examination to assess their learning. Successful candidates will be awarded certificates. The second batch of training is scheduled to begin before Eid-ul-Adha.
The training was officially inaugurated by Local Government, Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, who emphasized the importance of equipping entrepreneurs with the necessary skills to deliver essential services at the grassroots level.
Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, stated that the system is being developed with robust security measures to safeguard both citizen and agent data. He added, “Necessary APIs are being developed and provided to integrate with other government systems.”
He also noted that updates to entrepreneur profiles are ongoing and key features are being added to improve usability.
Regarding the mobile application, the special assistant said, “The API for connecting the mobile app has been completed. Discussions with the developer team have taken place to finalize the design and clarify the objectives of the Nagorik Seba app. Based on this, the app development is now underway.”
On the progress of API integration, he said multiple meetings and workshops have been held at the management, technical, and vendor levels with various government departments, including the Office of the Registrar General, Bangladesh Election Commission, Ministry of Land, Department of Immigration and Passports, and Bangladesh Police's Online GD Unit.
Additionally, efforts are ongoing to integrate services from myGov through the platform. A majority of the service integration is planned for the coming week. Based on these discussions, official letters have been sent to the respective departments for onboarding via API.
Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb remarked, “The concerned departments are showing sincere cooperation in joining the Nagorik Seba platform. Except for a few pending formalities, such as official correspondence, they are offering full support, including system demonstrations, integration planning, required action lists, and determining API structures.”
