Facebook Freebies: Robi and Airtel Enable Photo Browsing Without Data
Robi and Airtel subscribers in Bangladesh can now view Facebook photos and use Messenger even without an active data balance, thanks to a new initiative jointly launched by Meta and Robi.
On Wednesday, Robi announced that until now, users without data balance could only access Facebook's text-only version, which excluded all images. With this upgrade, Robi and Airtel users can now view photos on Facebook’s text version and even see still previews of videos. Full video streaming will be available once users recharge their data balance.
A pop-up message will notify users of their current data status and provide easy options to purchase internet packages. These packages can be bought through mobile financial services (MFS), bank cards, or linked accounts. Users will also be able to take micro-loans to continue browsing.
This initiative aims to enhance digital accessibility and keep users connected, even when they are out of data.
