BMPCA demands seamless network in mobile banking and ATM booths

Eid involves a lot of monetary transactions. And this transaction increases manyfold immediately before Eid day; More particularly, amid Eid ul Adha, monetary transactions take place in huge sum due to trading of sacrificial animals. The importance of mobile banking and ATM booth services is that is why immense in the focus of Eid-ul-Adha. Mobile banking and ATM booth are two most popular means of cashless transaction. In this context, Bangladesh Mobile Phone Consumers’ Association-BMPCA, which works on customer rights, has demanded that the network must be made uninterrupted and customers must be protected from harassment.

In a statement sent to the media on Saturday, the president of the organization Mohiuddin Ahmed complained and said, "We have been noticing since yesterday that customers are moving from one ATM booth to another due to the lack of quality network in the ATM booths of the most popular and widely used Dutch-Bangla banking services in the country." Along with this, customers are facing problems in withdrawing money. Through the information obtained from ATM booths in different parts of the capital, it can be observed that out of five ATM booths, one or two are operational but most of the machines are inactive or out of service. Along with this, if there is an increase in transactions in mobile banking services, especially in bKash and Nagad, the customer may suffer from server complications along with network complications.

It is informed in the notification, keeping in mind that this type of mobile banking service caused suffering during the last Eid-ul-Fitr; a monitoring team should be formed to maintain high-speed network and server. The authorities should keep in mind that there will be the highest transactions in next two days.
