Aiming to elevate academic standards and expand competitive scientific research infrastructure, the Department of Chemistry at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) has formally inaugurated two modernized laboratories. The upgraded facilities were officially opened by the Vice-Chancellor of JUST, Professor Dr. Md. Yearul Kabir, as the chief guest on Sunday, 30 August 2026, at 10:00 AM in the Kazi Nazrul Islam Academic Building.

Addressing the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor remarked, "The true excellence of a university is defined by high-impact research. The Department of Chemistry must lead in driving globally aligned scientific investigations. These renovated modern laboratories will sharpen the technical competence of students while invigorating breakthrough research, ensuring our young scientists remain competitive on international stages."

Speaking as special guest, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Sheikh Mahamudul Hasan underscored the necessity of synchronizing departmental units with the central research laboratory to maximize the operational utilization and maintenance of high-precision analytical equipment. Treasurer Professor Dr. Mohammad Faruque Hasan noted that departmental proposals for specialized apparatus and revised budgetary allocations are being expedited to advance institutional research capacity.

Chaired by Chemistry Department Chairman Dr. K. M. Anis-Ul-Haq, the session was also addressed by Dean of the Faculty of Science Dr. Md. Korban Ali and departmental faculty members. Following the opening session, the Vice-Chancellor inspected the instrumentation and safety systems. The reconstructed facilities incorporate standardized chemical storage units, optimized laboratory ventilation, and integrated fire suppression mechanisms.
