The hacked Facebook and WhatsApp accounts of Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Mazumder, Chairman of International Crimes Tribunal-1, have been recovered.

Special Investigation Officer and Prosecutor of the tribunal, Tanvir Hasan Zoha, confirmed the matter on Wednesday (1 April).

He stated that the Chairman’s personal Facebook and WhatsApp accounts were officially recovered on Tuesday night (31 March). However, no one involved in the incident has yet been arrested by law enforcement agencies.

Earlier, on 24 March, a General Diary (GD) was filed at Shahbagh Police Station in the capital regarding the incident. The GD mentioned that unknown individuals hacked the Chairman’s personal Facebook and WhatsApp accounts on 18 March. It also raised concerns about the possibility of various criminal activities being carried out through those accounts.

In connection with the incident, a letter had also been sent to the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to take necessary action.
