Several unauthorized agencies are offering various Hajj packages on Facebook and YouTube. A syndicate is spreading flashy advertisements and luring pilgrims with enticing promises and baseless offers.

In such circumstances, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued an advance caution to citizens, urging them not to make any payments to Hajj or Umrah agencies without verifying the approved list.

In a notice for the kind attention of Hajj and Umrah travelers, the Ministry stated: “It has been observed recently that some fraudulent groups, without approval from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, are promoting Hajj and Umrah packages on Facebook and YouTube with tempting offers. As a result, Hajj and Umrah travelers are falling victim to fraud.”

The Ministry further clarified: “Every year, the list of eligible Hajj and Umrah agencies is published on the Ministry’s website and on the Hajj portal. Therefore, no payments should be made without verifying the list of licensed and approved agencies.”

According to sources, the primary aim of making the list publicly available online is to ensure the safety of Hajj and Umrah travelers and to reduce the risk of financial loss through unauthorized agencies. The Ministry expressed hope that with greater awareness, pilgrims will be able to complete their journeys safely and securely.
