Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has urged city residents to share crime-related information through its mobile application, Hello CMP. Authorities said the app has been launched to ensure convenience for citizens and to aid in crime prevention, assuring that the identity of any informant will remain confidential.

On August 24, Sunday, CMP appealed to the residents of Chattogram to download the application and use it to report any incident or suspicion of crime.

Recently, complaints have been received that some miscreants and fraudulent groups are using false identities of individuals and organizations to extort money, issue threats, and intimidate people. To counter such criminal activities, CMP has sought cooperation from the general public through this initiative.

In a statement, CMP said: “A dishonest group has been openly or secretly demanding extortion from businesses, organizations, and ordinary people. At the same time, they are issuing threats and intimidation in attempts to destabilize the law-and-order situation.”

Against this backdrop, citizens have been requested to report any extortion, threats, or intimidation through the Hello CMP app. CMP reiterated that the identity of any informer would be kept strictly confidential.

Citizens can download the app by searching Hello CMP on Google Play Store or by clicking the provided link.

Police expressed optimism that with the active cooperation of the public, the law-and-order situation in Chattogram would further improve and criminal activities could be effectively brought under control.
