Nvidia’s Next-Gen AI Chips for China
U.S. chip giant Nvidia is developing a new generation of artificial intelligence (AI) chips for China. Sources indicate that the chip, built on the Blackwell architecture, will be more powerful than the current H20 model, Reuters reported.
The new chip has been named B30A. It will use a single-die design, capable of delivering half the processing power of Nvidia’s most advanced B300 accelerator card. The chip will also feature high-bandwidth memory and Nvidia’s NV-Link technology, enabling faster data transfers.
U.S. President Donald Trump recently hinted that Nvidia could be permitted to sell more advanced chips in China. However, final approval remains uncertain due to ongoing concerns in Washington over supplying advanced AI technology to China.
Nvidia expects to provide Chinese customers with trial samples of the chip as early as next month.
