‘Saiyaara’ Set to Stream on Netflix from September 12
After dominating theatres, the romantic drama Saiyaara, which premiered on July 18, is now slated for release on the OTT platform Netflix on September 12. The news was confirmed by Shanoo Sharma, casting director at India’s Yash Raj Films, through a social media post. She shared a poster clearly stating: “Streaming from September 12, Netflix.”
Although the filmmakers have yet to make an official announcement regarding the release date, it is certain that audiences will now be able to watch the film starring Ahaan Panday and Anith Padda on Netflix.
According to The Financial Express, Netflix has purchased the digital rights to Saiyaara. Initially, it was speculated that the film would release digitally eight weeks after its theatrical debut—around late September or October. The Times of India later reported that the makers were planning an OTT premiere during Diwali. However, fresh reports suggest the release will come earlier than expected.
The various looks of 22-year-old debutante Anith Padda in the film have already set the internet abuzz. She is trending on Instagram, where her on-screen pairing with Saiyaara’s lead Ahaan Panday has been widely praised.
Born in Amritsar in 2002, Anith developed a passion for the film world from an early age. She began auditioning for commercials and films as a child and launched her career through television advertisements.
Directed by Mohit Suri, the film has taken the Bollywood box office by storm, grossing over INR 500 crore worldwide. Whether Saiyaara can recreate its theatrical magic on Netflix now remains to be seen.
