The results of the undergraduate admission test for the 2024-25 academic year at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet, will be published on March 9, the university authorities announced on Tuesday. The results will be communicated via SMS and the official website.
After a four-year gap, SUST conducted its own admission test system last Friday (February 28). The ‘B’ Unit exam (Science, Humanities, and Business Studies) took place in the morning, while the ‘A’ Unit exam (Science) was held in the afternoon at exam centers in five divisional cities across the country. A total of 51 candidates competed for each available seat.
According to the admission committee, from January 5 to January 31, a total of 86,380 students applied for 1,671 seats. In the A-1 Unit (Science), 57,273 applications were submitted for 955 seats, while the A-2 Unit (Science & Architecture) received 1,250 applications for 30 seats. The B Unit (Science, Humanities, and Business Studies) had 29,107 applicants vying for 581 seats.
Additionally, 105 seats have been allocated under various quota categories, including 28 for freedom fighter descendants, 28 for ethnic minorities and marginalized communities, 14 for persons with disabilities, 20 for university staff dependents, 5 for tea plantation workers' children, and 10 for BKSP (sports quota) applicants.
