Palak meets the US Business Council delegation

US Business Council President and South Asia US Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President Former Ambassador Atul Kashyap led a high-level delegation of 15 members of the US Business Council meeting with the State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak. The meeting was held at the Meeting Room of the ICT Division in Agargaon on Wednesday. In the meeting, they discussed various issues including business and trade, investment plans in the ICT sector.

The state minister highlighted the achievements of Digital Bangladesh. He informed the delegation of the plan to build Smart Bangladesh by 2041 based on four pillars of Smart Citizen, Smart Economy, Smart Government and Smart Society. Palak sought the cooperation of the US Business Council in creating an international financial gateway platform for bringing in remittances and remittances for freelancers and investment in the ICT sector, including B2B match making, start-up exchange programs, information technology, AI tools, robotics, financial technology, health lab products and so on.

Representatives of the US Business Council said there is an opportunity to work closely with Bangladesh. They expressed their intention to invest in financial technology (fin-tech) and information technology sectors.

At that time, the members of the Bangladesh delegation included ICT Division Secretary Md. Shamsul Arefin, Bangladesh Computer Council Executive Director Ranjit Kumar, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority Managing Director GSM Zafarullah, Digital Security Agency Director General Abu Saeed Md Kamruzzaman, Information and Communication Technology Directorate Director General Mustafa Kamal were present.
