Advancing clinical nursing competencies, professional internships, and comprehensive healthcare access, the College of Nursing at the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) has signed three strategic agreements with Unico Hospitals PLC, Dhaka. The signing ceremony was held on 31 August 2026.
The agreements were executed by IUBAT Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdur Rob and Unico Hospitals PLC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Adra Kurien, in the presence of senior administrative and medical officials from both organizations.
Under the first Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for clinical placements, undergraduate students from IUBAT's four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing program will undergo structured clinical rotations at Unico Hospitals. Aligned with Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council standards, students will gain practical experience across departments including internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and community health.
The second MoU establishes a six-month structured clinical internship pathway at Unico Hospitals for eligible nursing graduates, culminating in official certification to enhance professional readiness. The third pact—a comprehensive service agreement—entitles IUBAT students, alumni, faculty, administrative staff, and eligible dependents to specialized corporate healthcare discounts covering consultations, diagnostics, routine evaluations, and emergency services.
IUBAT Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdur Rob and Unico Hospitals CEO Adra Kurien highlighted that the academia-industry linkage will strengthen clinical education standards while producing clinically proficient, ethical, and career-ready healthcare professionals.
