iDEA Drives Digital Development through Dynamic Desks
To accelerate innovation and foster the growth of young entrepreneurs in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the ICT Division has taken a new initiative under its “Establishment of Innovation and Entrepreneur Development Academy (iDEA)” project to ensure efficient management of co-working spaces.
As part of this move, the special assistant to the Chief Adviser on Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, has instructed officials to revoke allocations for inactive startups and provide access to the modern co-working spaces of the iDEA project for new and qualified startups.
He also emphasized the need for transparent, efficient, and effective use of government resources.
The entire application and allocation process will be conducted online. Entrepreneurs must apply through the official website of the iDEA project, submitting required documents such as a trade license or BIN copy, TIN certificate, the founder’s NID or passport, and, if applicable, a copy of any grant-related agreement. Only technology-based innovative startups will be eligible to apply for these co-working spaces.
According to Muhammad Jashim Uddin, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, the implementation of the new co-working space policy has made iDEA’s operations more dynamic. So far, allocations have been made in six meetings of the special committee, with 33 out of 51 desks already allocated. The remaining 18 desks are under the application process, and after verification, they will be distributed to promising startups soon.
Located in Agargaon, Dhaka, the iDEA project’s modern co-working space ensures a creative and innovative working environment for startups. Entrepreneurs are provided with six months of free office space, high-speed internet, meeting and conference rooms, monitoring and corporate networking facilities, and special access to the iDEA Lab.
The iDEA project authority expressed confidence that this initiative would open a new horizon for young entrepreneurs, fostering innovation, collaboration, and technology-driven business development across the country.
