Figma Fuses with Weavy for Futuristic Design
Popular design platform Figma has announced the acquisition of AI-powered image and video generation startup Weavy. Following the acquisition, the company will operate under a new brand identity — Figma Weav, according to a report by TechCrunch.
Tel Aviv-based Weavy, founded in 2024, secured $4 million in seed funding in June of the same year, led by Entrée Capital. Figma stated that all 20 members of the Weavy team will join Figma, though the financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Weavy’s web-based tool enables users to combine multiple AI models to generate high-quality images and videos that can be utilized in product design and branding. The tool allows users to adjust lighting, color, angles, and layers easily to achieve the desired creative outcome.
According to Figma, Weavy’s node-based design approach introduces a new dimension of creativity and control in AI generation. Figma CEO Dylan Field remarked, “Weavy has built a tool that is both powerful and delightful to use—it’s a joy to create with.”
