Apple's Autumn Adjustment: iPhone Prices Set to Rise

Apple is reportedly planning to increase the prices of its upcoming iPhones this September, according to a confidential source cited by The Wall Street Journal. However, the company is keen not to link the price hike to the ongoing US-China tariff conflict. The report was highlighted by TechCrunch.
According to the report, Apple intends to justify the price increase by pointing to new features and design enhancements. Analysts estimate that the additional tariffs in the third quarter could increase Apple’s costs by approximately $900 million. In response, the company has been shifting more of its iPhone production to India in an effort to avoid the 20% US tariff on Chinese-made goods.
Recently, the United States and China agreed to suspend mutual tariffs for 90 days, with the Trump administration also announcing significant tariff exemptions for technology products.
Bloomberg reports that Apple is planning to launch an ultra-thin iPhone later this year, and may introduce a fully glass, curved, and “no-cutout” model in 2027 to mark the 20th anniversary of the iPhone.
