Following the detection of a critical security vulnerability (CVE-2026-41940) in widely used web hosting control panels cPanel and WHM, the Bangladesh Domain Hosting Providers Alliance has taken urgent measures to safeguard customer data in Bangladesh.

Immediately after the issue came to light, hosting companies affiliated with BDHPA began applying necessary security updates or “security patches” to their servers and intensified monitoring activities.

In a press release issued on Friday, May 1, BDHPA stated that this global vulnerability created a risk of unauthorized server access by hackers. To address the situation, leading hosting service providers in the country are working continuously to ensure enhanced server monitoring and additional security measures. Due to these ongoing improvements, some customers may temporarily experience delays in cPanel or WHM logins, slower email communication, or intermittent issues accessing websites.

The organization reassured customers that these temporary inconveniences have been implemented in the interest of ensuring higher security. It emphasized that the situation is being monitored round the clock to protect customers’ valuable data and websites. BDHPA and its member organizations reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring a secure digital environment for the country’s hosting industry clients.

Relevant experts noted that, given the global and highly sensitive nature of the vulnerability, securing servers in the shortest possible time was essential. In light of the situation, BDHPA has requested customers to remain patient, expressing hope that services will return to normal soon.
