Prime Minister inaugurated the CPP Rapid Response Unit
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated the CPP's Rapid Response Unit for Digital Cyclone Preparedness Program.
She inaugurated the CPP's rapid response unit at a function held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital at 10:30 am on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister called on the people to use technology to send a warning message.
She said, “It is the age of technology now. We have also taken steps to warn people using technology. Mobile phones were not in anyone's hands earlier. Now everyone has a mobile phone. We provided community radio. There are many area-based community radios in the private sector. In addition, our radio and television are widely used to warn of any storm or disaster. As a result, people can be alert now.”
Mentioning that electricity has reached all parts of the country, the Prime Minister further said that due to the digitalization of Bangladesh, people are getting the opportunity to work online from home.
In her speech, the Prime Minister also said that Bangladesh is now the world's ideal country for risk management and stressed on maintaining this status.
