UFTB Seminar Spurs Students’ Strides to Google
The Department of Data Science and Engineering at the University of Frontier Technology Bangladesh (UFTB) organized a seminar titled “Breaking Barriers: A Journey to Google.”
The seminar was held on Tuesday, September 9, in Room 5002 of the university’s academic building.
Addressing the event as the chief guest, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf said, “In today’s world, technology is not only creating employment but also reshaping our mindset, lifestyle, and society. Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, data science, and cloud computing are opening countless opportunities for the next generation. Students must develop the mindset not only to be users but also to be creators of technology. UFTB wants to be at the forefront of this transformation.”
The keynote paper was presented by Rachita Khondoker Rifat, Software Engineer at Google. Drawing on her personal experience, she highlighted how one can overcome barriers to secure opportunities at leading technology companies like Google.
The seminar was conducted by Lecturer and Acting Chairperson of the Department of Data Science and Engineering, Tanzim Taharat Orpa.
Faculty members and students of the department also took part in the event. Discussants expressed hope that the students would be inspired by the experience and further enrich their skills and capabilities.
