Grameenphone, Mastercard Merge for Modern Mobile Money

To enrich lifestyles nationwide and strengthen digital engagement, Bangladesh’s leading telecommunications provider Grameenphone has entered into a strategic partnership with global digital payments and fintech leader Mastercard.

Through this collaboration, Grameenphone’s extensive digital ecosystem will be combined with Mastercard’s global payment expertise and lifestyle-oriented innovations. The partnership will also explore potential co-branded initiatives, enabling Grameenphone to launch value-added services for its customers.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Grameenphone CEO Yasir Azman Farha Naz Jaman CMO"], Mastercard Bangladesh Country Manager Syed Mohammad Kamal, and Director Zakiah Sultana, as confirmed by Grameenphone on 16 February.

Commenting on the partnership, Grameenphone CEO Yasir Azman said the company is continuously working to provide meaningful utility alongside connectivity services for digitally aware youth. “This collaboration with Mastercard will create opportunities to launch innovative services combining connectivity, payments, and lifestyle benefits, fostering a smarter and more inclusive digital future for our customers,” he added.

Mastercard Bangladesh Country Manager Syed Mohammad Kamal noted, “Bangladesh’s digital economy is advancing rapidly. Partnering with Grameenphone, which has played a leading role in the country’s digital transformation, is significant. This partnership aims to empower young customers through innovative, secure, and seamless digital payment services along with lifestyle benefits.”
