Akij Launches ‘Qurbani Run’ Tournament to Boost Local Gaming Industry
Akij iBOS Limited, a concern of Akij Resource, has launched a new gaming tournament titled “Qurbani Run” to encourage greater youth participation in Bangladesh’s local gaming industry.
The tournament was inaugurated on Saturday at Akij House in Tejgaon, Dhaka.
Gamers can participate in the competition through registration on “Illusion Arc,” the gaming platform developed by Akij iBOS. The tournament will continue until June 10. The top 25 participants will receive prizes including refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, and other rewards.
Speaking at the event, Chief Executive Officer of Akij iBOS Limited, Zayed Bin Rashid, said the “Illusion Arc” platform was created to build a local gaming ecosystem for the country’s youth.
He said the initiative aims to reduce dependence on foreign platforms and engage young people in the development of the domestic gaming industry.
He further noted that the company is working to create a positive and competitive environment for youth through technology-driven entertainment. There are also plans to expand the initiative internationally in the future.
Chief People Officer of Akij Resource Md. Afsar Uddin, Chief Business Development Officer Mohammad Toufiq Hasan, Cluster CEO of Akij Building Solutions Limited Asadul Haque Sufiani, Head of Corporate Services at Akij Resource Major Zahidul Hasan, and lead developer of the “Qurbani Run” game Zubayer Al Hasan were also present at the event.
