Following roadblock protests, students of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) have adhered to the central directive for a complete shutdown, boycotting all classes and examinations.

On Thursday morning, 28 August, classrooms across various KUET departments were observed empty, with no students attending. The students stated that their activities would continue until justice is served and all demands regarding the attack on engineering students in Dhaka are met.

Faisal Iqbal, a student, said, “As previously announced, none of our students attended classes. We are backed into a corner. Today as well, the roadblock program will continue. Students will remain on the streets until our demands are fulfilled.”

Another student added, “If our demands are not met, more stringent programs will follow. We have now expanded our demands from three points to five. These include that the Home Affairs Advisor must apologize and be held accountable for the attack on engineering students, the committee formed by government notification must be annulled and replaced with a committee including teachers and stakeholders to fulfill the original three demands promptly, the government must bear the cost for all those injured in the attack, and every police officer involved, including Commissioner Masud, must be dismissed.”
