BUET Exams Suspended Until 18 September
All undergraduate examinations at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) for various levels and terms have been postponed, according to an urgent notice signed by the Registrar, Professor Dr. N. M. Golam Zakaria, on Wednesday, 27 August.
The notice stated, “Considering the current emergent situation, all undergraduate examinations scheduled from 30 August to 18 September have been suspended. Decisions regarding these examinations will be taken later through discussions in the Academic Council.”
It is notable that BSc engineers from BUET and other universities have launched protests with three demands, including the right to use the title ‘Engineer’ before the names of diploma engineers. Meanwhile, diploma engineers are protesting with seven demands, including the opportunity for BSc engineers to be appointed to the position of Sub-Assistant Engineer.
